The starting point
11-year-old builder-grade architectural shingle on a single-story Stoney Brook ranch. The April 2024 hail event hit the south side of Broken Arrow hard — the homeowner's neighbor had already filed and gotten approved when they called us for a second opinion.
Our inspection found bruising across all four slopes, mat exposure on the south field, and granule packing in two downspout splashes. Solid claim.
Claim and adjuster meeting
Filed with Liberty Mutual. Adjuster meeting on the roof. First-pass scope under-counted the rear slope by half and missed the gutter screens. We documented the rear with chalk marks and photos, walked the adjuster through, and got the supplement approved for full replacement plus ridge cap, decking spot-repair, and gutter screens.
Total approved scope: $15,940. Homeowner's out-of-pocket: $1,500 deductible.
Install day
Five-person crew 7:15 AM. Tear-off complete 11:00 AM. Decking inspection caught one soft sheet — replaced. Atlas Summit dried in, ice-and-water shield in valleys and eaves. Pinnacle Pristine in Pristine Black installed by 3:30 PM. Magnet sweep complete 4:15 PM — every nail accounted for.

Frequently asked
How long did the claim process take?
14 days from first call to magnet sweep. Eight of those days were waiting on the supplement decision.
Why hire a roofer for the adjuster meeting?
First-pass adjuster scopes routinely under-count slopes that are hard to see from the ladder. A roofer on the roof during the meeting closes those gaps so the homeowner doesn't end up paying out-of-pocket for items the policy actually covers.
Are Stoney Brook roofs all the same age?
Mostly — the neighborhood was largely built between 2010 and 2015, so a lot of original builder shingles are now reaching the end of their useful life right as the April 2024 hail event is bringing them to ground.
