The starting point

The homeowner contacted us two weeks after a quarter-sized hail event clipped the south side of Broken Arrow. The roof was 14 years old — a builder-grade 3-tab from the original 2010 build — and the homeowner had been told by another contractor that 'there's no claim here.'

Our free inspection found bruising across all four slopes, granule loss in three downspout splashes, and mat exposure on the south-facing field. We marked, photographed, and chalked every hit, then mapped the slope counts onto a one-page summary the homeowner could give to their carrier.

The claim and the adjuster meeting

The homeowner filed with State Farm. We met the adjuster on the roof. The first-pass scope under-counted the south slope and missed the gutter screens entirely. We respectfully walked the adjuster through the additional slopes, the ridge cap (which is almost always under-scoped on hail claims), and the screens.

The supplement was approved within five business days for an additional $3,180 — covering full decking spot repair on three sheets we found rotted under the tear-off, full ridge cap replacement, and gutter screens to match the existing system.

Install day

Tear-off started at 7:15 AM with a five-person crew, two dump trailers, and full landscape protection. Decking inspection caught the three soft spots — we replaced them, then dried-in with Atlas Summit synthetic underlayment and ice-and-water shield in every valley and along the eaves.

Atlas Pinnacle Pristine in Pristine Black was installed by 3:30 PM. Ridge vent was rebuilt to balance the existing intake at the soffit. Magnet sweep completed by 4:45 PM — every nail, every staple, every piece of scrap hauled out the same day.

What the homeowner got

An Atlas Pinnacle Pristine system with an extended manufacturer warranty (available because we install as an Atlas Diamond Contractor), a lifetime workmanship warranty from FireHouse Roofing, and an out-of-pocket of only their $2,500 policy deductible.

The whole project — first call to magnet sweep — took 19 days. The install itself took one.
