The Good Guys of Roofing
Tahlequah sits in the Ozark foothills of Cherokee County — a different climate than the open prairie further west. Heavy timber, steep pitches, and the kind of winter ice loading that doesn't reach the Tulsa metro all factor into how a Tahlequah roof has to be built. The roofs here see less hail per year than the Tulsa hail corridor, but more ice and more wind funneling out of the hills.
FireHouse Roofing Co. is a firefighter-owned residential roofing company that's been serving Tahlequah homeowners since 2017. We're headquartered an hour west in Broken Arrow, founded by retired Tulsa firefighter Russ Hawkins, and we run Tahlequah projects with the same standards that defined his fire-service career — straight answers, fast response, no shortcuts.
We've worked across every Tahlequah neighborhood — from historic homes near Northeastern State University to the rural acreage along Highway 82 and the lake homes near Tenkiller Ferry Lake. Cherokee County roofs need real local knowledge, and we've put in the years here.

Learn moreWhy Tahlequah chooses FireHouse
Tahlequah's weather isn't the same as Tulsa's. Steeper pitches, heavier ice loading, and Ozark wind events all factor into how a roof needs to be built here.

Atlas's top installer designation. Installs done to manufacturer specification with extended warranty options most roofers can't offer.
Hundreds of Tulsa-metro homeowners — including families across Tahlequah — leaving honest, verified reviews.
A track record built one honest job at a time, not a marketing campaign.
Every install carries a lifetime workmanship warranty for as long as you own the home. If we caused it, we fix it.
$1,000,000 general liability coverage. Certificates available on request — ask any roofer before you sign.
FireHouse Roofing has been serving Tahlequah homeowners since 2017 — every storm season, every ice event, every routine maintenance call.
If your roof doesn't need replacement, we'll tell you. If a repair will hold, we repair. No padded scopes, no manufactured emergencies.
No same-day-only pricing. No scare tactics. Get the inspection, take your time, decide when you're ready.
About Tahlequah
Tahlequah sits in a different roofing climate than the Tulsa metro. The Ozark foothills mean steeper pitches, heavier timber shading, and winter ice events that simply don't reach the open prairie further west. Algae streaking on north-facing slopes is more common here. Ice-dam leaks at the eaves are more common. Ridge venting needs to be sized to a smaller, steeper attic space.
Storm exposure here is wind-and-ice first, hail second. The January 2024 ice storm that hit Cherokee County dropped damage across hundreds of Tahlequah roofs that's still being worked through. Spring and summer bring straight-line wind events funneling out of the Ozarks. Hail events do happen but are less frequent than in the open prairie further west.
We've walked Cherokee County adjusters across hundreds of roofs and know how the local carriers scope ice and wind claims — both of which are routinely under-scoped if a contractor doesn't document tight.
